Family Chiropractic Care
Life can feel rough sometimes, surrounding us with physical, emotional and chemical stressors. Whether you experience an unhealthy pattern such as sitting at a desk all day or an impactful trauma like an injury, the joints of the body can shift and become immobile. Though small, these changes can affect the health of your entire body.
How It Works
This lack of movement, also referred to as a subluxation, wears down your body. With a misaligned joint, the muscles are pulled in different directions, discs are worn down, and your nerves become irritated. When a subluxation occurs, the messages your brain sends down your spinal cord and out across nerves to your cells, muscles, and organs to tell them what to do get’s negatively impacted. It’s a lot like talking on your cell phone when you are driving through the tunnel and you can’t clearly hear what the other person is saying because of the static.
Normally this communication between your brain and your body allows you to pick up your grandkids, participate in a sport or simply complete your activities of daily living. When you can’t clearly get these messages back and forth between your brain and your body because of a subluxation in your spine, you might feel pain or have function problems with the parts of your body the messages aren’t clearly getting to and from. For example, reflux may occur if your stomach can’t receive messages from your brain about what to do. It’s important to note that the issue isn’t in your stomach if in fact it’s in that communication pathway.

Moms, Kids, Athletes and More
Helping expecting moms and children is one of our doctors’ areas of concentration. Pregnant women who are under chiropractic care may feel decreased back pain, have a shorter, more efficient labor, be able to facilitate baby getting into the proper birthing position and can have less round ligament discomfort. Women trying to conceive may see improved fertility. Babies and children can experience relief from ear infections, asthma, constipation, colic and more.
Please note that we don’t treat the actual condition; instead, we focus on the subluxation that may be causing the dysfunction. You’ve probably heard about professional and Olympic-level athletes having a chiropractor on their team of practitioners. Studies support that chiropractic can help optimize performance. If you have chronic injuries, we can help you recover and perform at your highest levels yet.
